Purpose

This page will outline the procedure for requesting a Google ads creative.

Application

The person assigned to create the new Google Ads Display campaign is responsible for requesting creatives.

1. Determine the Creative Requirements & Goals

First, determine what kind of creatives you need and the goals of the creatives.

Is it just brand awareness?
Is there a specific promo?

Instructions and guidelines should already be in the advertising form or posted in the corresponding Teamwork thread.

2. Write Out the Creative Instructions

Start by opening up a new task and naming it according to what it is.

Example: New Banners for Spring Promo

Then, proceed to write out the creative instructions.

When writing out the creative instructions, make sure to include the following:

  • The client and/or promotion the banners are for.
  • The style they need to be.
  • What call to action needs to be on them.
  • Where the assets need to be pulled from( ideally, you should have provided the assets to start unless it is in a place you do not have access to).

The banner sizes we use are:

1910x1000 (or 1.91x1) min. 600x100 px
1000x1000 ( or 1x1) min. 600 px
900x1600 (or 9x16) min. width = 500px

Usually, we use 5 base assets and have 3 sizes per asset. This will leave a total of 15 images to use.

After filling out the instructions with as much detail as possible, assign the ticket to one of our graphic designers. If applicable, make sure you put a priority tag when you assign the ticket so the designer knows how soon you need the creatives.

3. Gather Assets

If you are gathering assets, the two top places to check are the Buzz Google Drive or Deposit Photos.

4. Inform Team

Once the task has been posted, inform the team that you have posted it for them. Then, provide a quick summary of who it is for and when you expect it. Occasionally, check in with the person assigned the task to address any questions throughout the process until it is fully completed.

5. Send a Preview to the Client

Once they have completed making the creatives, send a preview to the client. If the client approves, that process is complete. If the client asks for edits, inform the team member who designed the creatives and work with them and the client until a creative is made that everyone is happy with.
