Purpose

This page aims to ensure that graphic design projects are being billed correctly.

Application

The graphic design billing process applies to any project manager, sales director, or graphic designer working on a graphic design project. All three are responsible for different parts of the billing process.

1. Determine Billing Structure

Graphic designs are billed in two ways- either hourly or at a set rate for the project. The sales director will decide how this is set up.

Generally, a logo project has a set cost ($1000), whereas a smaller project, like a business card, is billed hourly.

2. Track Hours

Whoever is doing the graphic design should be aware of the quoted time allotment and fall within that. While they are designing or making revisions, they should ensure that they track their time in Teamwork.

3. Send Invoice

Once the project is complete and all hours have been tracked, the graphic designer will pass their hours to the office admin and request an invoice to be sent out. If the project had a set price, the project manager will do the calculations to ensure that the project came in under budget. The project manager will then let the office admin know to send out the final invoice, if one is needed (usually, payment is split into 2 invoices).

Please ensure that these communications are happening in Teamwork so that everyone can easily see if an invoice was paid.
